Anna Lajourdie's journey into the beauty industry started all with but a
joke.
Late one afternoon while having a conversation with a friend, the topic of
nails came about. There Anna was commenting on how discontented she was
with how her gel nails were looking.
Her friend, in humor, made the comment to Anna "Why don't you do them
yourself?!"
This sparked the idea, the seed was planted. From what started out as a
comment turned into a passion.
With what seems like no time after that conversation with her friend, Anna
attended a nail technology course at "Nail Professionals" own by Kim
Tanner. Shortly after that Anna found a small salon in Streetsville,
Ontario (near Toronto) to apprentice with. There, she apprenticed for two
and a half years. After such, she decided to open her own professional
studio.
There the road truly began...
Since that day all those years ago with what started as a mere comment
Anna has gone on to become a world renowned nail technician, specializing
in "forever french" gel nails. She competed in 2003's "Strut Your Stuff"
(hosted by beautytech.com in New York, USA) taking home a 1st, became an
international educator and distributor for Haigh Industries (manufacturer
of Akzentz gels). Pictures of her work and her articles have been
published in an array of magazines (Beauty Cosmedica, Nailpro, Scratch,
Nails magazine, just to name a few).
In the meantime she lived in Spain for a year and with her sister, Gosia
Lajourdie she co-created 'La Capriola' (a nail salon, first located in
Lloret de Mar, now based in Blanes, near Barcelona).
Anna works closely with other distributors and travels to Singapore,
Poland, Spain, Germany to teach educator and basic education classes.
She's also traveled to Malaysia to work at the trade shows as well as
judge nail competitions. She works at the trade shows in Las Vegas and
Toronto representing Akzentz.
With all this going on she still finds the time to contribute to several
discussion forums like Beautytech.com, TheNailGeek.com, Euro-fashion.pl,
Fryzjer.pl, and her own Polish and English educational forums hosted on
www.polished.ca.
Wait there's more...
I'm sure many of you are thinking "More? How could there be more?". Well
let me tell you... Not only does Anna have a talent and passion for nails
but she has just as strong talent and passion for personal fitness as
well, her figure truly shows. This 5'10 graceful beauty falls nothing
short of stunning. In May of 2007 she competed in The Muscle Beach
international classic in Venice Beach, Ca. There are plans about
competing again (one day).
